Recalls: check by VIN

NHTSA files recalls for the Toyota Highlander under individual trim or body names rather than "Highlander", so we can't match them automatically. Enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls for the definitive list. The owner complaints below are matched correctly.

Complaints are unverified reports from owners. A pattern (many complaints about the same part) matters more than any single one.

DOOR LOCKS KEEP POPPING OPEN OR SHUT MANY TIMES PER DAY. SOMETIMES WHEN PARKED, OTHER TIMES WHEN DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR. EACH TIME I TAKE TO THE DEALER, HE SAYS HE CAN'T FIND THE REASON. TOYOTA HAS NO CLUE ON WHY THIS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM EXISTS. I CAN'T LEAVE ANYTHING IN THE CAR, BECAUSE WHEN I RETURN THE LOCKS ARE UP.*AK
