What's wrong, in plain English: A part or accessory supplied with the vehicle. The emergency jack, if not positioned as directed in the vehicle owner's manual, can fracture while in use.
What could happen: A fractured jack can cause the vehicle to collapse, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix: Dealers will replace the jack, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters informing owner of the safety risk are expected to be mailed July 26, 2021. Summary: General Motors, LLC. (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Buick Encore GX and 2021-2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer vehicles. The emergency jack, if not positioned as directed in the vehicle owner's manual, can fracture while in use.
Consequence: A fractured jack can cause the vehicle to collapse, increasing the risk of injury.

When putting the gear shift into park there is a constant SHIFT TO PARK message that plays even when shifted to park and forces the car to stay in accessory mode. When entering onto the freeway, I accelerated to the speed of the freeway traffic and the turbo system failed and the message was ENGINE POWER REDUCED and the check engine light came on. During the time of the turbo failure, I was almost hit by another vehicle that had to suddenly brake to avoid hitting me. This turbo failure happens frequently.

The shifter doesn't recognize when it is shifted into park. Shift to park keeps flashing on dash.

When I shut off the engine, it says “Shift to park” and the car will not turn off. To get it to turn off, I have to turn the car back on (usually multiple times), until it recognizes that it IS in park.

I was driving down the highway when the 3 bolts holding the exhaust under the car broke off. My exhaust was dragging down the highway until I could safely get pulled over.
