1. Equipment

What's wrong, in plain English: A part or accessory supplied with the vehicle. Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2022 Ekko, 2020-2022 Minnie Winnie, Spirit, 2020-2022 View, Navion, and 2020-2021 Vita, and Porto motorhomes. An incorrect hitch label was installed, which can lead to overloading of the vehicle.

What could happen: An overloaded vehicle can cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: Dealers will install the correct labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were Mailed May 6/2024. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 177.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2020 VITA.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Winnebago dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 23V637000 (manufacturer code 177).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-641-585-6939.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
