2018 Winnebago Intent recalls & complaints
Source: NHTSA, updated daily. Last checked 2026-10-19. Recalls apply to specific VINs — run your VIN to confirm.
4 safety recalls, most serious first
1. Body / structure — fix not yet available
What's wrong, in plain English: Body panels, frame, doors, hood, trunk or latches. The cabinet mirror over the driver's seat may not be properly secured, allowing the mirror to fall while moving.
What could happen: If the mirror falls, it can distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will install screws to secure the mirror to the overhead cabinet, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885.
What to do
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2018 INTENT.
- The fix is not available yet. Register your contact details with the dealer so they call you when parts arrive.
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-641-585-6939.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
