2018 Volvo S90 T8 recalls & complaints
Source: NHTSA, updated daily. Last checked 2026-10-19. Recalls apply to specific VINs — run your VIN to confirm.
2 safety recalls, most serious first
1. Seats
What's wrong, in plain English: Seat frames, adjusters or child-seat anchors. The driver and passenger front seat rail rear flange nuts may not have been installed during assembly.
What could happen: If the nuts are missing, in the event of a crash, the front seat structure and position may be affected, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix: Volvo will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the front seat rails for missing flange nuts, installing them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began May 7, 2019. Owners may contact Volvo customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo's number for this recall is R19931.
What to do
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2018 S90 T8.
- Book a repair at any authorized Volvo dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 19V220000 (manufacturer code R19931).
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-458-1552.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

2. Electrical system
What's wrong, in plain English: Wiring, modules, batteries. Short circuits can cause stalls or fires. What could happen: If the GPS location is not provided to emergency personnel it can inhibit emergency response in the event of a crash or injury.
