Source: NHTSA, updated daily. Last checked 2026-10-19. Recalls apply to specific VINs — run your VIN to confirm.
2 safety recalls, most serious first
1. Backup camera — software update
What's wrong, in plain English: The rear camera may not show an image when reversing. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
What could happen: A rearview camera image that does not display reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: The software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Car customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo Car's number for this recall is R10320.
What to do
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2024 S90 B6.
- This recall may be fixed by an over-the-air software update. Check the car's screen or app before booking a dealer visit.
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-458-1552.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

I was in B mode, slowed down to prepare to put the car in reverse to put my car in the driveway when the car surged forward unexpectedly and went up on a neighbor's curb, over their sewer cleanout pipe and tapped their car before the car stopped. The car just received the latest Volvo over air software update - v3.7. The car has twice had the driver's display screen lose its ability to display the map between the speedometer and the tach (map image pixiilates and display goes white) and then the entire display goes blank. When this failure mode is active, I have had to use Google maps or Waze on my…
