1. Lights

What's wrong, in plain English: Headlights, tail lights or turn signals may not work, making the car hard to see. The front right and/or left turn signal bulb can crack and fail to illuminate.

What could happen: Inoperable front turn signals cannot alert on-coming drivers and/or pedestrians that the vehicle will be turning, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the bulbs as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 20, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PM986 and PC811.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2020 TITAN XD.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Nissan dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 21V471000 (manufacturer code PM986 and PC811).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-867-7669.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
