1. Steering

What's wrong, in plain English: If steering fails you can lose control of the car. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models. The steering coupling bolt may have been improperly tightened, allowing the steering coupling to loosen from the steering rack.

What could happen: A loose steering coupling can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: Dealers will tighten the steering coupling bolts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 6, 2025. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2025 EQE 350 4MATIC.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 25V533000.
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-367-6372.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
