1. Electrical system

What's wrong, in plain English: Wiring, modules, batteries. Short circuits can cause stalls or fires. The instrument panel cluster may experience an internal short circuit and fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Controls and Displays."

What could happen: An instrument panel that fails to display critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix: Dealers will replace the instrument panel cluster, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed between October 3, 2024, and January 23, 2025. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 30B.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2024 GLADIATOR.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Jeep dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 24V652000 (manufacturer code 30B).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-853-1403.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

This happened on a 2024 Jeep Gladiator. When parking I went to set the parking brake and as I pulled the handle I heard a pop and felt the handle release all pressure. With the handle up there was no braking effect. Dealer repaired by hooking the right wheel cable back onto the bracket located under the center console, and then adjusting.

Owners have been instructed to park away from structures and other vehicles, but there is currently no remedy available. I am concerned about the safety risk and the lack of an available repair.
