High risk Campaign 13V139000 · announced 12/04/2013 (12 years ago)

1. Brakes

What's wrong, in plain English: Anything that slows the car down. Treat brake recalls as urgent. The front brake torque member was improperly cast resulting in structural weakness. This can lead to premature failure and cracking.

What could happen: If the brake torque member fails, the brake caliper may move and contact the inside of the road wheel, resulting in reduced braking, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the manufacturing date of the torque members and replace them, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on May 20, 2013. Owners may contact Nissan Customer Service at 1-800-647-7261.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2013 JX.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Infiniti dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 13V139000.
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-647-7261.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
