1 safety recall, most serious first

Moderate Campaign 94V125000 · announced 07/07/1994 (32 years ago)

1. Suspension

What's wrong, in plain English: Parts can break and cause loss of control. THE LOWER CONTROL ARM CAN CRACK AT THE FLANGE ON THE END OF THE CONTROL ARM NEAR THE BALL JOINT PAD.

What could happen: THE BALL JOINT CAN SEPARATE FROM THE CONTROL ARM RESULTING IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL.

The fix: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A REINFORCEMENT BRACE ON EACH OF THE FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARMS.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 1993 G35.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized GMC dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 94V125000.
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
