1. Electrical system

What's wrong, in plain English: Wiring, modules, batteries. Short circuits can cause stalls or fires. Water may enter the starter solenoid and cause an electrical short, which can result in an engine compartment fire while parked or driving.

What could happen: An engine compartment fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.

Owner notification letters were mailed July 15, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's numbers…

What to do

  1. Park outside, away from houses, garages and other cars — there is a fire risk even when the vehicle is off.
  2. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2019 G90.
  3. Book a repair at any authorized Genesis dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 24V107000 (manufacturer code 254(H) and 018G(G)).
  4. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  5. Manufacturer hotline: 1-855-371-9460.
  6. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
