1. Brakes

What's wrong, in plain English: Anything that slows the car down. Treat brake recalls as urgent. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2018-2026 Riverstone fifth wheel trailers. The steel hydraulic brake lines may fail and leak brake fluid.

What could happen: A brake fluid leak can cause a loss of brake function, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the brake lines, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 19, 2025. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service at 260-593-2425. Forest River's number for this recall is 70-1957.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2025 RIVERSTONE.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Forest River dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 25V550000 (manufacturer code 70-1957).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
