1. Brakes

What's wrong, in plain English: Anything that slows the car down. Treat brake recalls as urgent. The parking brake may be improperly adjusted, which can result in a vehicle roll away. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

What could happen: A vehicle roll away increases the risk of a crash or injury.

The fix: Dealers will properly adjust the parking brake, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 29, 2024. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 01B.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2023 CHALLENGER.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Dodge dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 24V112000 (manufacturer code 01B).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-853-1403.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

2. Seats

What's wrong, in plain English: Seat frames, adjusters or child-seat anchors. The left rear seat back may not lock in the upright position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 207, "Seating Systems."

What could happen: A seat back that is not locked into position can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

The fix: Dealers will inspect and adjust the seat back latch striker as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 15, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US LLC's number for this recall is 38B.

09/28/2026 · Unknown Or Other
Started a month ago and it's getting worse. When I put my car in park and then take my foot off the brake rather the car is still on or off the car moves. It's an obvious movement and that is when I'm parked on level cement driveway it rolls about a foot as of today. So times It scare me and I physically hit the brakes to stop it. I have an automatic transm…

The contact owns a 2023 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated that the instrument cluster cover had cracked twice in the center and in the right corners. The vehicle was initially repaired under warranty; however, the failure reoccurred within several months. The dealer had since refused to perform a secondary warranty repair. The manufacturer was notified o…

Have a crack that started from A pillar without any indication of any hit on the windshield. Took to dealer and they checked and agreed it has no chip that started the crack and there are numerous reports of 2023 Challengers windshields cracking for no reason in the exact same spot. Dealer tried to get a good will done through Stellantis and they denied the…

03/10/2026 · Visibility (wipers / glass)
The front windshield spontaneously cracked from the A frame. This is dangerous because it weakens the windshield and can impair vision. Multiple people online have complained about the same issue with their 2023 Challengers. I had it fixed at my dealership and through my insurance for an exorbitant amount of money. I contacted Stellantis and they tried to g…

01/24/2026 · Body / structure
Windshield stress crack. From driver side A pillar across the windshield. Widely known factory defect issue. Causing many windshield replacements. No impact, no chips. This was due to improper bonding of the windshield during manufacturing, and body flex of the vehicle.

12/29/2025 · Visibility (wipers / glass)
ON 12/24/2025 I found a foot long stress crack on the passenger side of the windshield. I was a National Glass Association Technician for 10 years I can tell the difference between a stress crack and an impact crack. There is no reason for this 2023 vehicle to have a stress crack with only 38,000 miles. Apparently, this is an ongoing issue all one needs to…
