2019 Chevrolet Corvette recalls & complaints
Source: NHTSA, updated daily. Last checked 2026-10-18. Recalls apply to specific VINs — run your VIN to confirm.
1 safety recall, most serious first
1. Airbags
What's wrong, in plain English: The airbag system — the part that is supposed to protect you in a crash. Hard braking or acceleration may cause the sensing diagnostic module (SDM) to enter a fault state. As a result, the SDM will not provide crash sensing or deploy the necessary air bags in the event of a crash.
What could happen: In the event of a crash, if the air bags do not deploy as designed, the occupants have an increased risk of injury.
The fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the SDM with updated software, free of charge. The recall began on June 29, 2018. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 18195.
What to do
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2019 CORVETTE.
- Book a repair at any authorized Chevrolet dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 18V360000 (manufacturer code 18195).
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-222-1020.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

A 2019 Corvette with 3,400 miles began to demonstrate a transmission torque converter shutter. This became rapidly and progressively worse causing driving to resemble being on a washboard road surface. The servicing dealer was familiar with the problem with this transmission and did resolve the issue with an expensive transmission fluid flush and exchange.
